School. I'm still in it, but I should be graduating after the Fall 2009 semester. This semester is going to be pretty project heavy, but it could be fun. Ballroom started tonight, but I didn't go because of the weather. I didn't want to deal with the ice on the roads. But I didn't want to do rumba anyway, so it's cool.

Work. I love my kids. They're sweet and make me really happy. I test for my black belt on Saturday, so YAY ME!

I'm going to England this summer for 2 weeks to visit Janet. We'll spend a few days in London, a bunch in Exeter and 2-3 days in Paris (super psyched!). But that'll be great.

I also need to plan a trip to Boston and one to Brooklyn. I'll shoot to do one over spring break in March. Maybe Boston. And then do a weekend trip to Brooklyn.

I baked a key lime pie today. I have no idea if it's any good. I'll report back.

Busy. But still alive. My stomach hurts right now, but I'm working on fixing that with come hot cocoa and toast.

Work is okay. There's a lot to do and we aren't getting new students which is bad, but we're kind of having a shit economy right now which isn't helping. I love my kids and they like me too. So that's definitely something to make me enjoy my job.

School is busy. So many stupid projects going on. Test tomorrow and Friday. Dance is the saving grace for my sanity. It socializes me and makes me happy. I do it a lot. I actually have it this morning for a few hours. I compete first weekend of November, so we'll see if I'm any good.

This cocoa is doing wonders for my poor tummy. :)

So...what have I been up to for the past 2 months? I had a 6 week summer course that I got a B+ in. Good enough for me.

I just finished up my 3rd 13hour work day. They have been long, stressful days which ended with a 4 hour event with 9 kids. the 4 and 6 year olds were total angels. The rest of them got out of hand. It was at this time that I found out I will be a horrifying mother. Since I rarely get upset with my kids, they know that if I'm yelling then they need to shape the heck up.

I'm currently living in someones house watching their dogs. One of the dogs is on the bed next to be rolling around like a big silly.

I am so beat. I am needing for sleep now. Things are okay. Just hectic.

Just so you know, I haven't been out of control depressed for the past almost month. I just haven't had much to update on. It's mostly been work and the gym. That's most of it. Rory and I made some ice cream cone cupcakes last night, so that was fun. Relay for Life is this weekend. If you still want to donate to help me fight cancer here's my personal site. Other than that, nothing is really going on. I start a summer class in July and go to FL for a few days for work stuff. It will help me suck less at my job, so hopefully I'll make some more money. I went to Boston this weekend. I've learned a few things.

1. Do not have a liquid dinner if you are emotionally unbalanced. The bad will probably come out before any good.
2. Dance before you get drunk. Not the other way around.
3. Liquid dinner made me lose almost 3lbs. Woot!
4. The drunken comparing of yourself to other girls can only end in tears. And vodka. And more tears
5. 3 LBS!

So number 5 wasn't a lesson. Just a happy fact.

School is still pretty bad. I meet my other professor today to discuss my sucking at his class. I don't love it here, but I don't think I'll find a college that I really like, so this is as good as any other one. Better than TCNJ as I have not been recommended for therapy or put in a hospital or banned from campus.

I test for my red belt on Saturday. I feel like I should be more excited than I am, but I'm sort of tired. Talk to me Saturday and I'll be off the wall. Mostly because my kids are graduating to their next belts, but I like them. I missed the new Gossip Girl last night. I need to hunt it down on the interwebs.

Very quick update.

1. I joined my first school club since 2003. Hopefully this one will be better than those. It's Ballroom Dancing. If I'm good, I'll look into the team, but probably not.

2. I test for my black belt in January 2009. I need to work on intensity/anger and cardiovascular health. I need to find an exercise that I don't hate.

3. Not all hope is lost with school. I just need to bust my ass is all.

4. Job is good. $500 bonus this month. As a program director, things are going great. My enrollment direction could use some work. We also got a bamboo plant because I wanted it.

5. I got a blackberry bush. Right now it looks like 2 sticks in the dirt.

6. I've been eating like crap. I should really work on that.

7. Every time I think my arm is better, it relapses. Any movement of the shoulder angers the muscle. As a result, I can't spar or ground fight right now. I'll drug up for class today and go light.

8. One of my kids at karate coloured a picture and gave it to me. It gets hung up.

9. Janet came over last night and we had Sicilian pizza with pineapples and black olives. It was amazing.

10. I need to get dressed and go to work. We have a party this afternoon. Hurrah.

A proper update

I guess I should do a proper update since I have a few minutes.

Work
Good. I like my job. I enjoy taking and teaching karate. My coworkers are great, the kids are sweet and the people I train with are awesome. It's been a slow month as far as enrollments go, but things will get better. I'm skipping a belt and should be getting a black in July 2009

School
Bad. I hate school. I've hated it since the first college I went to and it's only gone downhill. My classes are bad and I'm bad at them. I don't enjoy going and don't feel like I'm getting much out of it except some slight emotional distress. I continue to be baffled by people who don't hate college and actually continue to go after getting a usable degree.

Social Life
Otherwise known as Janet and Mike (and maybe Bob). I get to see Janet 1-2 days/week. It's good times because we get to vent to each other about everything evar and nobody acts like (or recommends) a therapist. I see Mike on the weekends. I complain to him as well and he puts up with it wonderfully. Bob works at the Borders Cafe. He's now a buddy of Janet's and mine. He tells us when there is new stuff and makes our drinks better than anybody else there.

So the general trend is up and down. Work yay, school boo, social life nice. Do I want to guzzle gin every time I have a class? Absolutely. But I don't, and that's what really matters.

OH! I went to party last weekend and it was 90's themed. I pwnd at Twister and had Everclear+Hawaiian punch. There were also PB&J sandwiches shaped like flowers. It made me really happy. Everclear often does.

Next Thursday I leave for Orlando. I'm getting back late Saturday. My boss is sending me for some teaching seminar. As of yesterday he didn't know what hotel I was going to and I don't have an itinerary yet. I should probably get on him about that. My parents gave me a very awkward version of the "don't get sexually assaulted" speech. They seem to forget that when I'm not surrounded by professional ass-kickers, I will be locked in my hotel room.

Quick update because I have some reading to do. A first impression of my classes.

Nutrition and Health: This is a big part of my major and I got my own dietary analysis software. I am pleased.

Systems Physiology: He said that 25% of us would fail the course. and the first lecture almost blew up my head. Things are not looking good for our heroine.

Biochemistry: Teacher seems nice. Material seems doable. Not something I would really enjoy because I fail to see beauty on a cellular level. Apparently I'm supposed to. But it's not so bad.

I haven't done an actual lab yet, so I'll talk about that when it happens. I'm sad about the Heath Ledger thing. I didn't particularly like him, but I was part of the 10TIHAY generation, so I feel the loss.

Other than that not much is happening. School and work mostly.

So I figured I should do a proper update. But I haven't got much to say. I'm painting my nails right now. Work is going well. I can now confidently say that I'm glad I left Wegmans. Not that I didn't like it there, but this is a good change. I test for my purple belt on January 26^th.

School starts on Tuesday. I was supposed to go shopping for a bridesmaid dress that day, so I need to reschedule. I'm less than excited about school, but I always have been. The classes should be interesting, but I'd rather be at work and doing things that I actually like.

Curves Win Hard! Take that models!
I sort of question their definition of "curvy" but that's a personal thing. I'm included in their definition. That's what matters. It talks of Omega 3's which have also been found to reduce the risk of Alzheimers. Nutrition is fun!

On the topic of weight and stuff I'd like to share how bad the obesity problem is getting in this country. Disney Revamps Ride. I never liked this ride, but it's sort of sad that this has to happen.

Note: I just found a check on my boss's desk made out to "Get Tanked." This amuses me.

So this weekend I watched both "Kill Bill" movies and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." I have decided that instead of college I would like to be a well-paid human weapon.

I also can't find my key for the karate school. It fell off of the crappy ring it was on. When I get a chance, I'll dig through my purse and hopefully it will be there.

Off to the gym to begin Operation Badass McSexypants.
